Windsor Mourns the Loss of Bowling Community Leader Daniel J. Dumouchelle at Age 65

Windsor, Ontario – It is with deep sadness that the Windsor community announces the sudden passing of Daniel J. Dumouchelle on August 23, 2024, at the age of 65. Known for his remarkable contributions to the local bowling community, Dan was a beloved father, friend, and leader.

Dan Dumouchelle was heavily involved in the Windsor Essex Chatham Kent Bowling Association, where he served as President, as well as the Ontario Ten Pin Bowling Association, where he was the 2nd Vice President. His leadership in these organizations spanned decades, leaving a lasting impact on the sport.

Beyond his formal roles, Dan was particularly proud of his work with the Unifor 444 Junior Bowling Program. Over the course of 33 years, he dedicated himself to helping young bowlers develop their skills and confidence, a legacy that will continue through the Dan Dumouchelle Scholarship Fund, established in his honor.

Outside of bowling, Dan spent over 20 years as a truck driver for Robinson Transport. He was also an avid golfer, known for sharing laughs and good times with his friends on the course.

Several individuals took to Facebook to express their condolences and remember Dan:

A memorial visitation for Daniel J. Dumouchelle will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (South Chapel) from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and again from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 PM, where family, friends, and members of the community will gather to remember and honor his life.

Dan’s unwavering dedication to his family and community, particularly through his work with youth in bowling, will be remembered for generations.
