William Oscar Smith of Glasgow, Kentucky, Passes Away at 72

William Oscar Smith, a respected member of the Glasgow, Kentucky community, has passed away at the age of 72. Smith died on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Bowling Green Medical Center. He was known for his work at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery and Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, where he was a retired employee.

Smith was the son of the late Virgil and Ella May Crow Smith. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Smith; step-children Jerry Marsh and Rhonda Hatfield; and his siblings Anna Britt, Arthur James Simpson, and Clifton Smith (Rose). He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Crow.

His funeral is scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday and again on Tuesday morning.

Condolences have been shared widely on social media, with Tony Emberton expressing, "Sorry for the family loss!!" and Mildred Jessie adding, "So sorry for your loss though and prayers with the family." Virginia Glass also shared, "My condolences and prayers are with the family and friends," reflecting the deep community support for Smith’s family during this time.
