Whittier, California – The family and community are mourning the loss of Rico Martinez, who passed away on September 11, 2024. Rico leaves behind his son, Rico, and daughter, Layla, as loved ones rally to support his grieving family during this difficult time.
In the wake of the tragedy, Rico’s sister, Melissa Montoya, has organized a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and provide assistance to his children. As of today, $605 has been raised out of an $11,000 goal, with eight donations made. Donations have come from individuals including Nancy Lopez, who contributed $100, and Shane Harmon, who also donated $100.
Melissa expressed her deep sorrow in setting up the fundraiser, writing, "It breaks my heart to be setting this up. I have no words. I don’t even know what to write."
