Mont-Tremblant, Quebec – Lily Kunstadt, a young and talented U16 ski racer from Club de Ski Mont Tremblant, was involved in a tragic accident on August 31, 2024, while training in Saas Fee, Switzerland. The accident occurred when a malfunctioning T-Bar struck Lily, causing a severe fall that resulted in significant injuries.

Lily, known for her fierce determination and love for the sport, sustained a broken back, fractured ribs, and severe facial burns. Her left eye was also impacted. Immediate care was crucial in those moments, and trainers, including Erik Guay, swiftly arrived at the scene. Their quick actions provided both physical and emotional support, shielding her from onlookers and administering vital first aid.

Following the accident, Lily was transported to Lausanne, where she underwent a demanding seven-hour surgery to repair four damaged vertebrae.
