Angola, Indiana – Trine University student Ben Kurtzweg tragically passed away after sustaining severe injuries from an accidental fall from the balcony of a fraternity house near the university. The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
According to reports, the Angola Police Department and emergency services were called to the scene at the Kappa Sigma House around 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Ben Kurtzweg unresponsive after he fell from the balcony. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
A Rosary service was held for Ben Kurtzweg at Our Lady of Good Hope on Wednesday, September 18, following the 6:30 p.m. Mass. The university community and friends have come together to offer their condolences and support during this difficult time.
Ben’s untimely death has left the Trine University community in mourning, and he will be remembered by all who knew him.
