Tragic Loss in Pembroke – Community Mourns the Passing of Madison Straub

Pembroke, Massachusetts – The community is in mourning after the sudden and tragic loss of Madison Straub, a beloved young woman with a bright future. Madison, an employee of Blackbird Baking Co., passed away recently, leaving family, friends, and coworkers devastated.

Her passing has deeply affected those who knew her from her time working at Christina’s Restaurant and at the Pembroke Farmers Market. Madison’s bright smile and kind spirit made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

In response to the news, Blackbird Baking Co. has announced a special event to honor her memory. JoAnna Letourneau, a representative from the bakery, shared that on Saturday, September 21st, they will donate 100% of their proceeds from the Pembroke Farmers Market to Madison’s family. JoAnna expressed her deepest sympathy, writing, "Blackbird Baking Co. would like to help Maddie’s family during this difficult time in any way possible." She invited the community to support the fundraiser by stopping by the bakery’s booth.

Many people have shared their condolences and memories of Madison on social media. Devin Anderlionis commented, "Lovely gesture, will definitely be by to purchase cookies," while Catherine Charlotte added, "I donated to the meal train and I’ll have someone swing by and grab cookies on my behalf as I’ll be out of town!" Others, like Diane Baldassarre DeCoste, expressed a desire to volunteer and help out: "I will definitely be by to purchase some things, but I would love to volunteer my time to help out with your booth that day!"

The outpouring of love and support continues, with community members like Mary Lou Stock, Michaela Gill, and Tracy Grady all pledging to attend the event. Many expressed their sorrow, with Nancy Huff stating, "I’m so sad," and Heather McGraw adding, "See you there!! So so sad!!"
