Declan was born at 1:39 a.m., weighing 9 lbs 10 oz and measuring 23 inches long. Despite the joyous anticipation, complications arose, and Declan’s heart stopped beating just before delivery.

The loss of their firstborn has left Clare and Dominic in profound grief as they now face the heartbreaking task of planning their baby’s funeral. In response to this tragedy, a fundraiser organized by Patrick Kimball has been set up to support the Fields during this difficult time.

The fundraiser aims to raise $10,000 to cover funeral expenses and provide the family with financial relief, allowing them more time to mourn together before Dominic returns to work. So far, $800 has been raised through 16 donations.

Kimball, who is coordinating the fundraiser, has requested continued prayers and any possible financial support for Clare and Dominic. The community’s response has been heartfelt, with donations coming in from friends and neighbors, including notable contributions from Isabel Hanisch and William Hatty.

Patrick Kimball expressed gratitude for the generosity and support, emphasizing the importance of alleviating stress for the grieving parents. The community’s outpouring of support highlights the profound impact of Declan’s short-lived life and the compassion of those around the Fields during this time of sorrow.
