Evalyn Renee Newell, 9, along with her younger sisters, Allison Lynn Newell, 6, and Amelia Maze Newell, 5, tragically passed away at their home in Wolcottville on September 17, 2024. Their mother, Rebecca Lynn Hughes, also died in the incident. The cause of death has not been confirmed, but the devastating loss has left the community in shock.
Evalyn was born on December 4, 2014, in Columbia City. Her sisters, Allison and Amelia, were also born in Columbia City and Fort Wayne, respectively. They are survived by their father, Jonathan Michael Newell, who resides in Kendallville, as well as two brothers, Brayden and Nathaniel Newell.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville, with burial to follow at Swan Cemetery near Laotto.
