Tiffany Shetzler Identified as Victim in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in New Castle, Delaware

New Castle, Delaware – Tiffany Shetzler, a 44-year-old resident of Middletown, Delaware, has been identified as the victim in a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on the evening of September 17, 2024. The incident took place at approximately 8:23 p.m. on Boulden Boulevard near the intersection of Southgate Boulevard.

According to Delaware State Police, the tragic event unfolded as a maroon Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 22-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware, was traveling westbound on Boulden Boulevard. Tiffany Shetzler attempted to cross the road from the north side to the south side when she was struck by the oncoming vehicle.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported Shetzler to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata was not injured in the crash.

Authorities reported that the roadway remained closed for approximately three hours while investigators processed the scene, causing significant traffic disruptions in the area. The Delaware State Police have not yet disclosed whether any charges will be filed against the driver, and the investigation is ongoing as officials continue to gather information.
