Tallahassee Resident Charlene Howard Dies Following Tragic Car Accident

Tallahassee, FL – Charlene Howard, a well-known and beloved resident of Tallahassee, tragically passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a car accident. The fatal accident occurred on September 14, leaving the community in mourning.

Charlene, a dedicated professional and active member of the Tallahassee community, was surrounded by her family and loved ones when she passed away at 10:33 p.m. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, her injuries proved fatal.

A GoFundMe campaign was established by family friend Adner Marcelin to help the Howard family during this difficult time. As of today, the campaign has raised over $14,227 of its $25,000 goal. Marcelin shared a heartfelt message with the community, announcing Charlene’s peaceful passing and expressing gratitude for the support the family has received.

Charlene Howard was a respected figure in education, serving as a Program Manager at Florida State University and Internship Coordinator at Florida A&M University. She was also a proud member of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority. Her educational journey included studies at multiple prestigious institutions, such as Regent University, the Certified Life Coach Institute, and Florida State University. Originally from Miami, she made Tallahassee her home and touched the lives of many through her work in education and mentorship.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Charlene was known for her deep commitment to community service. Friends and colleagues alike praised her for her passion, warmth, and unwavering support of others.

Mikayla Kenline posted, "The world is darker without your sunshine. Quieter without your laughter and kindness. Emptier without your warmth and infectious enthusiasm. Until we meet again, friend."

Another friend, Charlene Chogo Howard, wrote, "To have Charlene touch your life for even a moment was to have confidence and genuine support. It’s devastating that her time changing lives down here has ended. How lucky for heaven to have gained such an extraordinary angel."

Rachel Elizabeth added, "Still in shock."

Charlene Howard will be remembered as a bright light in Tallahassee, whose legacy of service, love, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her. Funeral arrangements are still pending, and the family is thankful for the continued outpouring of love and support.
