Chicago, Illinois – Stanislaw Grochowski, a cherished member of the Chicago community, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old. Stanislaw, known to many as "Stasiu" or "Stanley," was remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his deep Catholic faith, and his strong Polish roots.
Born in Poland, Stanislaw moved to the United States in search of better opportunities for his family. He settled in Chicago, where he became a pillar of his community. His life was defined by hard work and an enduring commitment to his family and faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, and his two daughters, Anna “Ania” Fink and Katarzyna “Kasia” Grochowska.
Stanislaw’s passing has left a deep void for those who knew and loved him. Anna Grochowska, his daughter, shared on Facebook, “Friends and family, I’m writing this post with a heavy heart. Our dad, Stanislaw Grochowski, 80, passed away two days ago. Always smiling, Stasiu filled the lives of those around him with love and positivity.”
Many friends and family expressed their condolences on social media. Malgorzata Olszanski commented, “Ania to bardzo przykra wiadomość. Moje kondolencje,” while Kinga Kosmala wrote, “Moje najszczersze kondolencje.”
Visitation for Stanislaw will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, located at 6857 W. Higgins Avenue in Chicago. Funeral Prayers are scheduled for Monday, September 16, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Constance Church at 10:00 a.m. Stanislaw will be laid to rest at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.
