Spotsylvania County Resident James Trevor Reid Passes Away at Age 21

Spotsylvania County, VA – James Trevor Reid, a beloved resident of Spotsylvania County, tragically passed away on September 14, 2024, at the age of 21. Born on September 27, 2002, Trevor was known for his vibrant spirit, love of family, and deep passion for sports, particularly football.

Trevor was a graduate of Spotsylvania High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. His love for football was particularly notable, as he cherished his time spent on the sidelines with his father, cheering for the Spotsylvania Knights. Trevor also worked at Vulcan Materials, where he was well-regarded by his colleagues.

Trevor’s larger-than-life personality, kindness, and infectious smile left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. His love for his family and friends was paramount, with his motto being "Family Over Everything." Trevor was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first child with his partner, Iyana Lewis.

A memorial service in Trevor’s honor will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg, with a celebration of life to follow at the American Legion Post 320. In keeping with Trevor’s laid-back personality, attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite Spotsylvania Knights or Dallas Cowboys gear.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to support the future expenses of Trevor and Iyana’s baby.

Several friends and family members shared their condolences on Facebook. Amber Beavers posted, “Gonna miss your crazy self,” while Heather Whitman Zimmerman added, “So sorry for your loss. Saying prayers for peace and comfort.”

Trevor leaves behind his parents, Kimberly and Conway Reid; his twin brother, Trent Reid; and his sisters, Lanie and Emmerson Reid. He is also mourned by his grandparents, Mitchell and Nancy Morgan, and Evelyn and Mike Waybright, along with numerous other relatives and friends. Trevor was preceded in death by his grandfather, James M. Reid.

His untimely passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory and love will live on forever.
