Sharon Marcotte, Long-Serving Cambrian College Member, Passes Away After Battle with Cancer

Sharon Marcotte, a beloved figure at Cambrian College, has passed away following a prolonged battle with cancer. Marcotte, who was a vital part of the college’s Facilities team and a cherished member of the Cambrian Varsity family, died late last week. She retired from her full-time role in 2017 but continued to contribute in various part-time capacities.

Marcotte’s dedication to the college spanned over forty years, during which she became known for her caring support of Varsity athletes, often serving as a ‘den mother’ who offered a warm shoulder, mended wounds, and provided sustenance.

The Cambrian College community is mourning her loss. “Many fond memories of Sharon, condolences to her family, friends and the Cambrian community,” wrote Curtis Bell on Facebook. Other tributes include heartfelt messages from Betty Jeanne, MD K Landry, and Chelsea Parent, all expressing their sorrow and respect for Marcotte.

Sharon Marcotte is survived by her husband Larry, her children Ryan, and Karli. Her contributions to Cambrian College and the lives she touched will be fondly remembered.
