Sarah Long, Co-owner of Cutting Edge Salon, Passes Away at 60 – Community Remembers Her Generosity and Love

Iberia, Missouri – Sarah Melissa “Missy” Long, co-owner of Cutting Edge Salon, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on February 8, 1964, in Tuscumbia, Sarah’s passing has left her family, friends, and community heartbroken. She was known for her creativity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.

Missy was married to Timothy “Tim” Long for over four decades, having wed on August 26, 1982. Together, they built a life filled with love, supported by their two sons, Evan Long and Brady Long. Sarah was also a devoted grandmother to Sage Long, Brianna Long, and Adriana Long. Her father, Franklin “Bud” Rodden, survives her, along with her sisters, Tina Humphrey, Lisa Pemberton, and Jennifer Cochran.

As the co-owner of Cutting Edge Salon, Missy’s dedication to her work was well-known. Her passion for crocheting, crafting, and spending time with her grandchildren defined her vibrant personality. Whether taking her grandchildren on zoo trips, horseback riding, or fishing, she always ensured that every moment was filled with love and joy. Missy also had a deep love for holidays, always going the extra mile to make them memorable for her family.

Her faith played a vital role in her life. A devoted member of the Brumley Church of Christ, she was known for her generosity and community involvement, which touched many lives. Her passing is a deep loss to all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at Madden Cemetery near Iberia on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reggie Kinser. It will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together and honor her memory.

On Facebook, numerous friends and family members have shared their thoughts in memory of Sarah. Michael Maxwell wrote, “12 years together, 10 years married! My wife is hotter than the surface of the sun, sweeter than a bag of sugar, and more loving and caring than the day is long because Jesus has been teaching her all her life. I am blessed to have you with me in this life Sarah Maxwell!”
