Dolan, who was born in Minnesota, became a renowned figure in Reno after moving to the city in 1969 and building an influential career in the automotive industry.
Dolan started his career in Reno at Reno Dodge, under Don Weir Sr., and later went on to purchase the dealership, transforming it into the highly successful Dolan Auto Group. Beyond his achievements in business, Dolan was deeply committed to giving back to his community. His contributions to charitable causes left a lasting impact on Reno and its residents.
In 2015, Dolan publicly revealed his battle with pulmonary fibrosis and his need for a lung transplant. Despite these challenges, he continued his philanthropic work, donating significant funds to Renown Health in 2019 to help create a pulmonary rehabilitation program for northern Nevada.
