Asheville, North Carolina – Randy Shepherd, a well-loved pastor at Crossfire Ministries, has tragically passed away after facing complications from heart surgery. A native of Asheville, Randy was known for his dedication to spreading the gospel and serving his community with kindness and faith.
Randy Shepherd’s life was deeply rooted in Asheville, where he built lasting relationships from his time studying at UNC Asheville and attending Asheville High School. He was a passionate advocate for his ministry, Crossfire, using his platform to share messages of hope worldwide. His love for basketball was also central to his life, playing for the Spirit Express basketball team and later combining his athletic skills with his ministry work.
Recently, Randy underwent a major heart surgery, involving the replacement of two heart valves. Unfortunately, despite his strength and determination, he struggled to recover, and his health challenges ultimately led to his passing. Throughout his illness, his unwavering faith served as an inspiration to those around him.
Randy’s love for his community and the Tennessee Volunteers was well known. He was always there for anyone in need, spreading messages of love, support, and faith. His ministry and personal outreach touched thousands of lives, making him a pillar in both Asheville and the wider community.
As those who loved him reflect on his legacy, Randy will be remembered for his generosity, compassion, and devotion to his faith. Funeral arrangements will be announced by his family in the coming days.
