Quincy Resident Debbie Jean Hamm Passes Away at Age 68, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love

Debbie Jean Hamm, a long-time resident of Quincy, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024, at her home. She was 68 years old. Debbie was born on January 12, 1956, in Quincy, where she lived her entire life surrounded by family and friends who loved her deeply.

Debbie was the daughter of Donald "Dale" and Marcella Jean (Ballow) Rhea. She married on August 25, 1973, and built a life centered around family, faith, and love. Those close to her describe her as a "beautiful soul" who left behind cherished memories.

Her passing has been met with an outpouring of love and condolences from those who knew her. “I am beyond words and so many feelings. I love you mom,” shared Jamie Hamm in a heartfelt post. Friends and community members expressed their support as well. Gena Sellers wrote, "So many memories of your mom growing up. She was such a beautiful soul! Prayers for you all!"

Debbie’s family is grateful for the support they’ve received during this difficult time. Services for Debbie Jean Hamm are being arranged by O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy.
