Patricia Donohue of Brooklyn, NY Passes Away at 95 – Family and Friends Mourn the Loss

Brooklyn, NY – Patricia Donohue, a beloved resident of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, at the age of 95. Known to many as "Pat," she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.

Born on June 10, 1929, Patricia was the daughter of Edward and Mary Cavanagh. She was a graduate of St. Brendan’s High School and met her husband, Frank Donohue, during her junior year. The two were married for 64 years until Frank’s passing in 2017. Together, they raised 13 children, and Patricia’s devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her life.

Throughout her years, Patricia was a devoted member of St. Gabriel’s Church in Marlboro, NJ, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher. She was deeply involved in her community, often helping elderly parishioners and working at Brookdale Community College for over two decades. Her humor and wit were well-known among friends and family.

Patricia’s life will be celebrated by her 30 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and service.

Services will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall, NJ, on September 18, 2024, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel’s Church on September 19, 2024. Patricia will be laid to rest at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery.

Several heartfelt messages were shared on Facebook in remembrance of Patricia. One friend wrote, “Sending prayers and love to the Donohue family,” while another added, “Her life was a beautiful testament to love and family.”

Patricia Donohue’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
