Niagara Falls Resident John P. Cipolla Passes Away at Age 56, Remembered for His Dedication to Family and Community

Niagara Falls, NY – John P. Cipolla, a beloved resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024, at the age of 56, surrounded by his loving family at Niagara Hospice House. John, a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School and Niagara University, was deeply admired for his 30-year career as a Senior Security Officer at Niagara County Community College (NCCC), where he was known for his dedication and service.

John was the cherished son of Jo Anne Polin Cipolla and the late Anthony Cipolla. He is survived by his wife, Esther Thomson Cipolla, whom he married in 2006, and his treasured son, Vincent. John was a devoted family man who found joy in the outdoors, particularly fishing, camping, and gardening. He also proudly supported the Raiders football team and served as a Parent Scout Leader alongside his son.

In addition to his wife and son, John leaves behind his mother, Jo Anne, his siblings, Joseph Cipolla and Krista Greig, and his niece and nephews. He will also be missed by his extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, with funeral services on Saturday, September 14, at St. Leo’s Church, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY.

John’s passing has deeply affected his community, and many have expressed their condolences on social media. Ruth Louise shared her sadness on Facebook, recalling fond memories of John’s kindness and love for Italian food. Others, like Eric Steff, Shannon Ordon, and Clare Sweeney, also shared heartfelt messages, remembering John’s generosity and warmth.

Kristy Lynn posted, "Such an amazing human being lost way too soon… This is heartbreaking news."

Memorial contributions can be made in John’s name to The Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Adult Day Services or Niagara Hospice.
