McCarthy, who had been with the company since 2015, played an instrumental role in shaping the company’s growth and fostering important partnerships within the travel industry. Her passing was confirmed on September 9, 2024, through a Facebook post from a colleague who shared the heartbreaking news.
Karyn McCarthy had an impressive career, spanning over 30 years in the travel industry. She was well known for her work at American Express, where she managed corporate travel accounts for clients such as Morgan Stanley and Prudential Financial. Later, she served as Senior Director of Corporate Sales for The Leading Hotels of the World, collaborating with Fortune 500 companies and travel agency consortia.
In her most recent role at Virtuoso Travel, McCarthy was responsible for establishing strategic partnerships and driving growth for the company’s Preferred Partner programs. Her colleagues have praised her extensive industry knowledge and leadership skills, which made her an integral part of Virtuoso’s success. Her vision and dedication will be sorely missed by all who worked with her.
While the cause of her death has not been publicly disclosed, tributes have poured in from friends and colleagues who remember her warmth and kindness.
