Nashville Resident James Alexander Cox Passes Away at Age 56, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love and Devotion

Nashville, TN – James Alexander Cox, a cherished native of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 56. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.

James will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to his family. He is survived by his father, William “Billy” Cox, and his mother, Patricia Rucker, who both loved him dearly. He was a proud father of three children: Austin, DeSean, and Lourdes, and a devoted grandfather to his three grandchildren, Legend Alexander, Austin Bennett James, and Lennox MarSean.

His siblings, Pastor Julie Desirae Allensworth and Dr. Nicole Cox-Jordan (Chris), along with his extended family, including his uncle, James A. Cox, II, and aunt, Debra Ellison, will miss him immensely. James also held a special bond with his brothers by choice, Kenneth Rucker and Donn Pendergrass, and was beloved by many friends, including Carol Herbert, Charles Wayne Jimpson, Mike Teasley, and the Herbert family.

James’ life touched many, and his memory will continue to live on through the countless relationships he built throughout his lifetime. His family is asking for thoughts and prayers during this time of grief, as they mourn the loss of a beloved son, father, brother, and friend.

James’ presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
