Mumbwa Town Council has announced the untimely passing of Lastone Kabwe, who served as a Roads Foreman under the council’s Engineering Department. Kabwe passed away on the 19th of September, 2024, at approximately 16:00 hours at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka. The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
The council shared the somber news with deep sorrow, offering condolences to his family and friends. Kabwe’s burial arrangements will be announced at a later time.
Tributes have poured in across social media, reflecting the profound impact Kabwe had on those who knew him. "Words won’t express this bitter truth," said Ivy Luwika Musonda, a colleague. Another friend, Ronald Chizanda, added, "Our Coach K sure… Why so soon? What a bitter pill to chew."
Many have expressed their condolences and heartbreak over the sudden loss. "This is a disturbing news," commented Shonena Ndemuna, while Obraine Mwiinga lamented, "Too bad, my friend Kabwe, my heart is broken."
