Memphis, TN – Brandon Derrick, a Memphis resident, has tragically passed away on September 12, 2024, following a brief hospitalization at Baptist East Hospital. His family, led by Candice Clark, is now seeking assistance from the community to help cover the expenses of his funeral through a GoFundMe fundraiser.
Brandon was admitted to the hospital on August 5, 2024, due to fluid buildup and a urinary tract infection. While he had been dealing with heart problems, his condition took a sudden turn for the worse. On September 4, Brandon suffered cardiac arrest twice and fell into a coma. After eight days in a critical state, he passed away on September 12.
Candice Clark, who organized the fundraiser, shared that this sudden and tragic event has deeply affected the family. The fundraiser, titled "Please Help Lay Brandon (Derrick) to Rest," has set a goal of $11,000, but as of now, only $15 has been raised through one donation.
Family and friends are rallying around the effort to give Brandon a proper farewell. The community is encouraged to contribute or share the fundraiser to help ease the burden on his loved ones during this difficult time.
