Matt Fitch’s Son, Caleb Fitch, in Critical Condition After Accident in Waddell, Arizona – Community Rallies to Support His Recovery

Waddell, Arizona – Caleb Fitch, the 13-year-old son of Matt Fitch, is in critical condition following a serious accident on September 6, 2024, where he was struck by a car while riding his bike home from school. Caleb was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he underwent life-saving surgeries after suffering severe injuries, including skull and facial fractures, brain hemorrhage, and significant damage to his right arm.

Caleb’s recovery is expected to be long and challenging, with multiple surgeries and therapies ahead. His father, Matt Fitch, along with the community, is deeply appreciative of the overwhelming support they’ve received during this difficult time.

A fundraiser organized by family friend Heidi Harapko has been set up to help cover Caleb’s medical expenses and ongoing care. The fundraiser has already raised $8,755 of its $25,000 goal through 71 donations. The support includes a recent $50 donation from Rachel Whisnant and a generous $1,000 contribution from an anonymous donor. Harapko, the first to donate, contributed $500.

Heidi Harapko shared her thoughts on Facebook, urging people to support Matt and his son: “Matt Fitch’s son was recently in a serious accident and is facing a long road to recovery, with multiple surgeries and therapy ahead. Your support, no matter how small, can make a huge difference for him and his family.”

The family is grateful for any assistance and asks for continued thoughts and prayers as Caleb fights his way toward recovery.
