Mary T. Ali-Furey of Huddersfield, A Beloved Researcher, Dies Surrounded by Family

Huddersfield – Mary T. Ali-Furey, a dedicated researcher at the University of Huddersfield, has passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She was known for her remarkable work in Child & Youth Care, as well as her deep compassion for the people around her. Mary died on the night of September 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

Born and raised in Huddersfield, Mary attended Moor End High School before pursuing her passion for helping others through her studies at the University of Huddersfield. Her academic work reflected her lifelong commitment to making a positive difference, especially for the younger generations. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and tireless dedication to her community.

Family and friends have shared heartfelt messages in honor of her memory. Chris Maylett posted on Facebook, “Growing up you was like our second mum, the love and care you gave to me and my siblings will stick with us forever. We will never forget you, and we all love you with every bit of our heart. One of the most amazing women I’ve ever met. Rest in peace Mary T. Ali-Furey xx.” Thomas Muffitt also wrote, “Rest in peace,” while Becky Reid expressed, “Thinking of you all.”

Mary’s passing has left a deep void, but her loved ones take comfort in knowing she was without pain in her final moments. Her family, particularly Danielle and Korey Ali-Furey, have been pillars of strength throughout this difficult time.
