Mae Ella Rita Falgout, 73, Galliano Resident, Passes Away – Family Plans Celebration of Life at Falgout Funeral Home

Galliano, Louisiana – Mae Ella Rita Falgout, a beloved 73-year-old resident of Galliano, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Mae Ella leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family, which she cherished deeply throughout her life.

Mae Ella was a devoted mother to her children, Charles "Chuck" Falgout Jr., Shantyle Bousegard (Casey), and Rhonda Falgout (Terry Bourg). She was also a proud grandmother to Dylan, Amber, Sarah, Lori, Casey Jr., Devin, Charlie Mae, Braylan, and Dria, as well as a great-grandmother to Logan, Aria, Adeline, Charlotte, and Hudson. Her family also includes her brother, Harris "Kip" Doucet Jr., and her sister, Liz Adams.

Her passing follows the loss of her beloved husband, Charles "Charlie" James Falgout Sr., and her son, Chad Falgout. Mae Ella was also preceded in death by her parents, Harris J. Doucet Sr. and Janet Duet. Her life was characterized by her devotion to her family and community, always offering her unwavering love and support.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to celebrate Mae Ella’s life during visitations at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. The viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and again on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until the service begins. A Celebration of Life ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m., after which Mae Ella will be laid to rest at Cheramie Cemetery.

Chuck Falgout shared details of the memorial service on Facebook, noting, "Mom’s viewing and celebration of her life will be Wednesday evening and Thursday morning at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. We will then proceed to Cheramie Cemetery for burial."

Support and condolences poured in from friends and family on social media. Robert Pitre fondly remembered Mae Ella, stating, "She was always so nice to me! I’ll definitely try to make it." Nancy O’Connor shared, "Keeping you and the family in my prayers," while Craig Gumbo Plaisance and Cindy George also expressed their sympathies, both offering, "Sorry for your loss."
