Longtime Union City Resident Dale Bowling, Sr., Passes Away at 71

Dale Bowling, Sr., a well-known figure in Union City, Indiana, has passed away at the age of 71. Bowling died on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.

Born on March 4, 1953, in Adams County, Ohio, Dale was the son of the late Clarence and Genevieve (Howe) Bowling. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl McGhee, and an infant granddaughter.

Dale Bowling, Sr. is survived by his children: Melenda Seiler, Dale Bowling, Jr., Mia (Jason) Cleere, Matthew Bowling, Miranda Bowling, and Ashlyn Bowling. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, his siblings Benny (Robin) Bowling, Christine Lynn, R.C. (Cathy) Bowling, and Teddy (Samantha) Bowling, and his close friend Sabrina Shaneyfelt.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Cemetery in rural Wayne County, Indiana, followed by an open house celebration of Dale’s life.

Social media users have expressed their condolences. John Black commented, "Sorry for your loss Dale," while Justin Fletcher added, "Sorry for your loss man," and Donovan Messer said, "Sorry for your loss bub."
