Longtime Secretary and Dog Show Enthusiast Jenny McEvoy Passes Away Peacefully Surrounded by Family

Jenny McEvoy, a cherished member of the Northern Counties Whippet Club and a prominent figure in the dog show community, has sadly passed away. She died peacefully on September 3rd, 2024, surrounded by her family. McEvoy served as the club’s Secretary for many years, offering her time and effort selflessly to support both the Whippet community and the wider world of dog shows.

Her dedication extended beyond Whippets, as she played an instrumental role in encouraging new exhibitors across various dog breeds. McEvoy also organized a popular ringcraft group in Lancaster, fostering the development of countless dog enthusiasts.

Tributes have begun pouring in from those who knew and worked with her. “So sad to hear this… heart-felt condolences to her family and friends,” wrote Elaine Bogart. Helen Wayman added, “What terribly sad news… Jenny was secretary of so many societies in the north-west, giving so much to the dog scene.”

Jenny McEvoy’s passing leaves a significant void in the dog show community, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with her.
