Joseph Leonard Brewer, Beloved Knoxville Resident, Passes Away at 82

Knoxville, Tennessee – Joseph “Joe” Leonard Brewer, a cherished member of the Knoxville community, has passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Born on August 21, 1942, Joe left this world on September 14, 2024.

Joe Brewer, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was known for his dedication to family and his long career at First Tennessee Bank. His contributions and kindness touched many lives, making his loss deeply felt by those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol, their son Joey Brewer and daughter-in-law Beth, and his grandsons, Matthew McSwords and Bryce Brewer. His brothers, Charles Brewer and James Raines, along with numerous nieces and extended family, will also miss him greatly.

Joe’s passion for life was evident in his love for traveling to Daytona Beach and supporting University of Tennessee sports. His legacy of love and integrity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.

A graveside service will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery on September 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Dan Hix officiating. The family has requested that flowers be sent to Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City.

Joe Brewer’s passing is a significant loss to his family and the community. He will be remembered fondly for his unwavering loyalty and generous spirit.
