Corozal, Puerto Rico – José Enrique Medina, a beloved 93-year-old man, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, surrounded by his family. Known for his sense of humor, dedication, and love for life, José was deeply cherished by those close to him.
Born on December 20, 1930, in Corozal, Puerto Rico, José lived a life rich with love and commitment. He was affectionately called "Kike" by his wife, "Daddy" by his children, and "Papi" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and the strong legacy he built over the years.
José was married to his wife, Lilliam A. Caceres, for 71 years. Together, they raised five children—Ricky, Linda, Asia, Lilly, and Mel—instilling in them values of humility, compassion, and strength. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember him for his playful sense of humor and memorable moments, such as his lighthearted pranks and signature dance moves at family gatherings.
After 20 years of honorable service in the United States Air Force, where he retired as a Technical Sergeant, José pursued a new passion in building homes. He was admired by his friends and colleagues for his dedication, creativity, and ability to fix nearly anything. His love for storytelling and entertaining made him a beloved figure in the community.
José is survived by his wife, Lilliam, his children Linda, Asia, Lilly, and Mel, 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings, Oscar and Wilfredo Medina, Lucy Rudes, and Eva Sanchez. José was predeceased by his parents, José Manuel Medina and Mercedes Rodriguez, his siblings Victor, Angel, and Antonio Medina, and his son, Ricky Medina.
José Enrique Medina’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, a man who dedicated his life to his family and service.
