Johnny Epperson Jr. of Hainesport Killed in Tragic Chain-Reaction Motorcycle Crash on Route 206

Hainesport, New Jersey – Johnny Epperson Jr., a 67-year-old resident of Hainesport, tragically passed away in a devastating motorcycle accident on Route 206 on the afternoon of September 15, 2023.

The accident occurred near milepost 23.3, shortly before 12:40 p.m. According to the New Jersey State Police, Epperson was riding northbound on Route 206 when his motorcycle collided with the rear of a car. The impact caused his motorcycle to overturn, sending him into the southbound lane, where he was fatally struck by a truck.

The truck driver, unaware of the collision, continued driving and did not stop at the scene. Authorities have since identified the truck driver, who is reportedly cooperating with the ongoing investigation. As of now, no charges have been filed.

Epperson was pronounced dead at the scene, and the investigation continues as authorities work to understand what caused the initial collision. Police are urging any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the crash to come forward.
