Jerry Lee King of Kokomo, Indiana, Passes Away at 72 – A Tribute to the Life of a Dedicated Journeyman Electrician

Kokomo, Indiana – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jerry Lee King announces his passing on September 10, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on February 11, 1952, in Jackson County, Kentucky, Jerry lived a life full of dedication, love, and service. He was a longtime journeyman electrician whose career spanned over 50 years, leaving a lasting impact on his community and industry.

Jerry’s work life began at D&M in Connersville, Indiana, and he continued his craft with Ford in Connersville before finishing his career at Stellantis in Kokomo. His tireless work ethic and commitment to his trade were well known among his peers and family alike.

Outside of work, Jerry was a passionate outdoorsman. He cherished traveling across the country, visiting family, and enjoyed hunting trips with his sons, which he considered a highlight of his life. His love for nature and adventure was a defining feature of his vibrant personality.

Jerry is survived by his children, Robert King of Canada, Leslie Bailey of Indiana, Karen Riggins of South Carolina, and Jonathan King of Kokomo, Indiana. He also leaves behind a large, loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by several family members, including his brothers Donald and Bobby Joe King and his sisters Bertha Bennett and Jeanette Collins. His beloved cat, Andy, also preceded him in death.

A visitation will be held on September 19, 2024, at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center in Kokomo, Indiana, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location. Jerry will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the King Family Cemetery in Annville, Kentucky.

Jerry Lee King’s memory lives on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched during his many years as a devoted worker and loving family man. His legacy of love, service, and commitment will forever be remembered.
