Jake Anthony Cavallo of Colchester Tragically Passes Away in East Haddam Motorcycle Accident

Colchester, Connecticut – Jake Anthony Cavallo, a 22-year-old resident of Colchester and a former Cougar football player, tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident on Friday evening, September 13, 2024, in East Haddam.

Born on December 23, 2001, in New Haven, Jake was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He graduated from Bacon Academy in 2020 and recently completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Connecticut in 2024. Jake had recently begun working at Electric Boat in Groton, fulfilling his dream of becoming a chemical engineer.

Jake was known for his warm personality, contagious smile, and his passion for sports. He played football and lacrosse during his time at Bacon Academy and formed close friendships during his time with the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, where he met his best friend, Andrew Kattman.

Jake is survived by his parents, Robert Cavallo and Lora (Apostolides) Cavallo, as well as his long-time girlfriend, Marlie Gill. He will be remembered by his siblings, James and Ava Cavallo, as well as his stepfamily and extended relatives, who will miss him deeply.

A funeral service will be held at Spencer Funeral Home in East Hampton on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, with a service to follow. Jake will be fondly remembered for his kindness, energy, and love for life.
