Chicago, Illinois – Keith Poola Mitchell, a 29-year-old resident of Chicago, tragically lost his life following a fatal car accident on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290). The crash occurred on September 11, 2024, in the early hours of the morning.
According to reports, Illinois state troopers responded to the scene around 2:20 a.m., where Mitchell was found ejected from his vehicle near the Cicero Avenue exit on the eastbound lanes of I-290. After being ejected, his car collided with a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Keith Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene by state police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The eastbound lanes of I-290 were closed for nearly two hours but reopened around 4:25 a.m.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
