Gerald “Jerry” Eaton of Portsmouth, VA, Dies Unexpectedly at 51; Family Seeks Support for Memorial Celebration

Portsmouth, VA – Gerald “Jerry” Eaton, 51, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind family, friends, and a community mourning the loss of a beloved figure known for his infectious smile and love for fishing. Jerry, described as a hardworking, giving, and outgoing individual, was remembered fondly for his ability to bring laughter and joy to everyone around him.

A fundraiser has been organized by Carley Bell to help the family during this difficult time. The goal is to raise $5,000 to support Jerry’s memorial and cremation, as it was his wish to be cremated. As of Thursday, September 12, 2024, the fundraiser has collected $115 from two donors, with Scott Mosley contributing $100.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life in Jerry’s honor at a date to be determined. The family has expressed deep gratitude for the support, prayers, and donations they’ve received so far, and they welcome any further contributions.

Jerry’s legacy as a dedicated worker and a king of fishing continues to resonate with those who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt by all.
