George Moss of Blacksburg, South Carolina, Passes Away at Age 84, Funeral to Be Held at Hopewell Baptist Church

Blacksburg, South Carolina – George Harry Moss, a beloved lifelong resident of Blacksburg, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on September 11, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on June 16, 1940, George was the son of Warren and Louise Moss, and he lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and community.

A proud graduate of Limestone College, George enjoyed a successful career across various industries, earning respect for his integrity and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Outside of work, George was a passionate supporter of the Clemson Tigers, a regular attendee at Hopewell Baptist Church, and an avid golfer, spending much of his free time with close friends and his twin brother, James Moss.

George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sandra Moss, who he lovingly described as "the prettiest woman he had ever met." Together, they raised three children: Jeff Moss, Melody Smith, and Kevin Moss. George was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, and a great-grandfather to Sayden Bishop.

In addition to his immediate family, George leaves behind his sisters Marlene Earls, Sue Patton, and Gayle Beam. He was preceded in death by several of his siblings, including his twin brother, James Moss, with whom he shared a particularly close bond. The loss of his son Tim Moss to cancer in 2022 deeply affected George, who often expressed his anticipation of reuniting with Tim in Heaven.

A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Blacksburg. This will be followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, where friends and family will gather to honor George’s memory.

George Moss will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to his community. His passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of many.
