The family of the late Laurel Palmer (nee Hobbler) has announced her funeral service arrangements, following her recent passing. Laurel’s funeral will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, with a viewing at Palm Island Morgue at 10:00 a.m. and the service at Palm Island PCYC at 11:30 a.m. A ferry service has been arranged for attendees, departing from Townsville to Palm Island at 8:00 a.m., with a return service scheduled later in the day.
The family, represented by Ciara Lee Bligh, expressed their sorrow over Laurel’s passing and shared details of the service on social media. The post also mentioned the availability of commemorative shirts for sale, with the deadline for orders set for Monday, September 16th, 2024.
Tributes have started to pour in, with one commenter, Toby Hunter Jr., simply stating, "RIP Nana Lala," showing the affection and love felt by many for Laurel.
Laurel Palmer is survived by her extended family, including Raymond and Roderick Palmer, and will be remembered fondly by the Palm Island community.
