Springfield, MA – Maria Ortiz has organized a GoFundMe campaign to honor the memory of her grandmother, Carmen Colon, who passed away on September 10, 2024, due to health complications. The fundraiser is aimed at raising $800 to cover the cost of a gravestone for Carmen’s burial site.
Though the funeral expenses are already taken care of, the family is seeking additional support to complete the final tribute. So far, $70 has been raised through three donations, with contributions from Nakiyah Winston ($20), Shannon Mckenba ($30), and an anonymous donor ($20).
Maria Ortiz expressed her gratitude for the support received and encouraged others to contribute. “We would really appreciate any donations, although our goal is $800,” Ortiz stated in the fundraiser description.
