Fundraiser Launched for Cremation Costs of Missy Cottrell, Who Tragically Passed Away in Ellsworth

Ellsworth, Wisconsin – Missy Cottrell, a long-time resident and friend to many, tragically and unexpectedly passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024. In response to this heartbreaking loss, her close friend Diana Johnson Buckner has organized a fundraiser to cover Missy’s cremation costs, seeking support from the community during this difficult time.

The fundraiser, titled "Support Missy’s Cremation Costs," has set a goal of $3,000 to help cover the expenses. As of today, the campaign has raised $400 from three donations, with contributors including Ann Ostlund, Didi Jezierski, and Diana Johnson Buckner, who herself donated $200. The community is encouraged to contribute any amount they can to help Missy’s family, as her mother Carrie is struggling to gather the necessary funds for her cremation.

Diana shared that she and Missy had been friends for 45 years, describing Missy as more of a sister than just a friend. Missy will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

The fundraiser is a call to action for all those who can assist in honoring Missy’s memory. Donations can be made through the fundraiser page, and the community is asked to share the information to help reach the goal as soon as possible.

Missy’s family and friends are deeply grateful for any support during this difficult time.
