FDOT Employee Dee Goodwin Passes Away, Leaving a Legacy of Service

Dee Goodwin, a longtime employee of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Goodwin, who spent most of her career with the Traffic Engineering Office in Tallahassee, also worked in the Rail Office during her earlier years.

Her passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences from colleagues and friends. Jo Ann Green Hutchinson, an administrator in a Facebook group dedicated to FDOT employees, expressed her sorrow, saying, “So sorry to hear this. She was a great person.” Another colleague, Lula Bradwell Wetherington, shared her grief, commenting, “My condolences, she was a very special lady.”

Goodwin’s services will be held later this week, with visitation scheduled at Abbey Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at Telogia Baptist Church, followed by burial at Lake Mystic Cemetery in Bristol.

Her dedication to her work and her warm presence among colleagues have left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her FDOT family and the community she served for many years.
