Douglas James McNabb of Collingwood Passes Away at Age 42 After Battling Illness

Douglas James “Jamie” McNabb, 42, of Collingwood, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at London University Hospital. McNabb was predeceased by his mother, Heather Ann McNabb (nee Rowbotham), and his father, Douglas James McNabb. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.

Friends and family shared heartfelt tributes online, remembering McNabb for his kind spirit and the strong connections he made throughout his life. "My heart breaks, but Jamie is in a better place, free of pain and suffering," shared Patricia Rowbotham, expressing her sorrow at the loss of her nephew. Kelly Walpole, a former client of McNabb’s, added, "Sincerest of condolences, gone too soon. RIP Jamie."

McNabb had a lasting impact on those who knew him. Hazel Pratt, who described him as her "adopted" son, reminisced about his tender heart during his time living in Hanover. Trevor Boorman, one of his closest friends, expressed deep sorrow, saying, "We’ll miss him dearly, love you always and forever, Jamie."

The family has extended their gratitude to the staff at London Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion during McNabb’s final days.
