Coppell, Texas – Delia "DeeDee" Kiehn, a cherished member of the Coppell community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the age of 53. DeeDee was known for her deep faith, creative talents, and unwavering love for her family.
Born on August 31, 1971, in Dallas, Texas, DeeDee’s passion for art led her to earn a degree in Art History from the University of North Texas. She pursued her career as an interior designer at Bev Heil & Associates, where her artistic eye and attention to detail made her a standout in her field.
DeeDee’s life took a romantic turn in 1991 when she met René Kiehn in Germany. The couple married in 1996, creating a loving home with their two sons, Sebastian and Nicholas. DeeDee’s devotion to her family was evident in everything she did, from her work to her personal life.
In addition to her professional and family life, DeeDee was deeply involved in her church community at Park Cities Presbyterian Church, where she was a member since 2001. She participated in various Bible studies and faith-based activities, drawing strength from her favorite scriptures, including Psalms 46:10 and Romans 8:38-39.
Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2021, DeeDee faced her illness with incredible courage and determination. Her family expressed gratitude to the medical team at UTSW and the many friends who provided love and support during her battle.
She is survived by her husband René, sons Sebastian and Nicholas, mother Diane Howell, step-brother Jeff Howell, and extended family. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
