Darrin Dockstader of Soda Springs Dies in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on State Highway 34 in Thatcher

Thatcher, Idaho – Darrin Dockstader, a 56-year-old resident of Soda Springs, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday morning. The fatal crash occurred around 10 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 34 and East Thatcher Road.

According to the Idaho State Police (ISP), Dockstader was riding a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a 46-year-old female passenger, also from Soda Springs. As they traveled southbound on State Highway 34, their motorcycle was struck by a 1992 Chevy pickup truck. The driver, an 82-year-old man from Thatcher, attempted to turn left onto Thatcher Road, failing to yield to the oncoming motorcycle.

Dockstader sustained fatal injuries upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was critically injured and was airlifted to a hospital for emergency treatment. Her condition remains unknown, and authorities have not released her name.

The elderly driver of the pickup truck was not reported to have sustained any injuries, and it remains unclear if he will face any charges. The Idaho State Police are still investigating the accident to determine whether driver error, road conditions, or mechanical failures contributed to the collision.

Dockstader’s death has sent shockwaves through the Soda Springs community, where he was remembered fondly by friends and family. Many took to Facebook to express their grief and share their memories of Dockstader.
