Concepcion Barrion Banaag, the esteemed composer of the iconic "Prayer for Peace" recited at every mass at the EDSA Shrine, has passed away at the age of 98. Banaag died on September 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and spirituality that touched countless lives through her contributions to the Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of EDSA.

Her passing was confirmed through an announcement made by the EDSA Shrine community, where she was remembered in prayers for her invaluable service and dedication to promoting peace through her music.

Messages of condolences poured in on social media, with many expressing their gratitude for her contributions. Mel Solidum wrote, "Eternal rest unto Concepcion. May your soul rest in peace."
