Community Unites to Support Heather Dragon Graham Following Son’s Serious Accident in Lafayette

Lafayette, Colorado – Heather Dragon Graham is at the center of a significant community fundraising effort after her son, Myers Graham, was seriously injured in a tragic accident. On September 6, 2024, while riding his bike to school, Myers was struck by a driver at a marked crosswalk, resulting in severe injuries.

Immediately after the accident, Myers was transported to Good Sam/Intermountain Health, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove his spleen. Despite wearing a helmet, he also suffered a skull fracture, which has led to a traumatic brain injury. A subsequent chest x-ray revealed a displaced clavicle, necessitating another surgery to place a healing plate.

As of September 16, Myers remains in the ICU, focusing on recovery from his traumatic brain injury. His family—Heather, along with Andy and Cooper—has been by his side, receiving immense support from friends and community members during this challenging time.

In response to the family’s needs, a GoFundMe page has been established by Kirsten Mithoefer Herzig, aimed at raising funds to assist with medical expenses and ongoing travel for rehabilitation, which will occur approximately 40 miles from their home. The campaign has successfully raised over $7,930 toward its $50,000 goal, reflecting the outpouring of generosity from the community.

Myers’ classmates have also played a crucial role by initiating their own fundraising efforts, which have now been consolidated into this single campaign to maximize support. Contributions from individuals like Samuel Francis, who donated $1,000, and many others, are helping ensure the Graham family has the necessary resources during this difficult period.

The family expresses deep gratitude for the overwhelming love and support they have received, as they navigate the long road to recovery for Myers.
