Community in Donna, Texas, Raises Funds for Funeral of Bill O’Brien, 83-Year-Old Deaf Resident with No Family

Donna, Texas – A fundraiser has been launched by Margarita Romo to support the funeral costs of Bill O’Brien, an 83-year-old resident who passed away with no surviving family. The community has come together to ensure he receives a proper funeral, aiming to raise $2,000 to cover expenses, including cremation.

Bill O’Brien was known for being a joyful presence in the community, despite being deaf. He was well-loved for his kindness and willingness to help others. Now, the community is rallying to give back by contributing to his funeral arrangements.

As of today, $140 has been raised from four donations. Contributors include Maria Eloisa Veliz, who gave $10, an anonymous donor who contributed $100, Rosa Schulze with $20, and SanJuanita Martinez, who donated $10. The fundraiser needs to collect the remaining funds by Friday to cover the costs for his cremation.

Organizer Margarita Romo has expressed the urgency of the situation, emphasizing the importance of reaching the financial goal in time. The fundraiser has been created on behalf of Bill O’Brien’s friends, as he had no family to manage these final arrangements.
