Christopher Roy Helms of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Dies at 46

Christopher Roy Helms, a former telecommunications specialist with the Kings Mountain Police Department, has passed away at the age of 46. Helms died on September 14, 2024, at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, North Carolina. He was born on January 23, 1978, in Cleveland County, North Carolina.

Helms was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Gary and Judy Bryson Helms, and his beloved pets Reggi, JJ, Neeka, and Ollie. He is survived by his sisters Julie Helms Beeson and Karen Hollingsworth, as well as his fiancé Adrienne Shipp and her children. His family also includes his niece and nephews, and a fur baby named Haddie.

The community has expressed deep condolences. Joey Downey remembered him as "always kind," and Avis Owens Morrow reflected on their friendship, saying, "He was a fine young man."

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helms’s memory to VIA Health Partners or a pet rescue charity of choice. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Kings Mountain is handling the arrangements.
