Amarillo, Texas – A tragic motor vehicle accident on Monday evening, September 16, 2024, claimed the life of 20-year-old Christian Camacho. According to the Amarillo Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 6:26 p.m. in the 4200 block of Relatta Drive.
Eyewitnesses report that Camacho was driving a Honda SUV southbound on Western Street when he attempted to overtake a semi-truck. During the maneuver, he lost control of his vehicle, which rolled several times before crashing into a house located at the intersection of Western Street and Relatta Drive.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Tragically, Christian Camacho was pronounced dead upon their arrival. Fortunately, no one inside the house was injured despite the vehicle’s violent impact.
The Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. Further details will be released as the investigation continues.
