Chico Resident Jose Rivera Passes Away, Family Organizes Fundraiser to Cover Funeral Costs

Chico, California – Jose Rivera, a beloved grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2024, after being admitted to the hospital earlier that day. He was described by his family as a loving, caring, and hard-working man who often went out of his way to help those in need.

His death has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, which includes his four children, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. To help cover funeral expenses, his granddaughter, Maria Aguilera, has organized a fundraiser.

As of today, $735 has been raised out of a $5,000 goal, with donations coming from friends and loved ones. The largest donation of $250 was made by Ricardo Perez, while other supporters like Dene Ehrhart, Kimberly Palafox, and an anonymous donor have also contributed.

Maria Aguilera expressed her gratitude in the fundraiser post, noting how much Jose meant to his family and friends. She is calling on the community for support as they prepare to lay him to rest.

Donations continue to pour in, and anyone wishing to contribute can do so via the fundraiser set up by Maria Aguilera in Chico.
