Albany, Georgia – Brian Neil Hatcher, a lifelong resident of Albany, passed away on September 11, 2024, at the age of 56. His passing has deeply saddened his family and friends, who remember him as a loving father, husband, son, and brother.
Born on March 22, 1968, Brian was a graduate of Riverview Academy. He was known for his dedication to his family, particularly his immense pride in his son, Maddox Hatcher, whose achievements and character brought him great joy. Brian also cherished his role as a devoted husband to his wife, Jessica Hatcher.
Brian was an outdoorsman who found peace in hunting and fishing. His love for nature mirrored his calm and joyful demeanor, reflecting a life lived with simplicity and grace.
A funeral service in his honor will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Mathews Funeral Home, with Rev. Tommy Gay officiating. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research in Brian’s memory.
Brian leaves behind his parents, Buster and Darlene Hatcher, his wife Jessica, his son Maddox, his brother Michael Hatcher (Amy), and his sister Lisa Griffin (Van). He is also remembered by numerous nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Edith Murdock, and L.H. and Nadelle Hatcher.
